Health and Wellness Tips
Selecting Our World Organics produce is just one way to maintain a healthy lifestyle that’s in tune with our environment. Here are some other tips you can follow to make the most of your health—and get the most out of life.
Diet
Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables (at least five servings) daily.
- Eat more whole grains (whole wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal) and fewer refined grains (white bread, white rice, pasta).
- Choose healthier sources of protein, including beans, nuts, fish, poultry, and eggs.
- Eat more “good” fats (unsaturated) and fewer “bad” fats (saturated and trans).
- When you go out to eat, choose smaller portions or share an entrée.

Exercise
- Maintain a consistent, healthy body weight.
- Exercise at least 30 minutes daily—in one session or several small ones. For example, make your day more active by walking, jogging, or biking to work.
- Focus on activities that are fun and social, such as walking with friends.
- Strike a balance between fat-burning (cardio) and muscle-building (weights).
Wellness
Boost your immune response by getting seven to nine hours of sleep at night.
- Drink eight to twelve 8-ounce cups of fluids (five of which should be water) daily to avoid fatigue.
- Relieve stress regularly through yoga, meditation, exercise, or massage.
- Take time to control your stress. Breathe deeply for three to five minutes twice a day.
